Christy Singleton

Christy Box Singleton, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023 at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 from 5pm-8pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 1pm-2pm at Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 2pm on Wednesday April 26, 2023 at Crossgates Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Crestview Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS.

Christy was born in Winona, MS on August 2, 1971. She was currently employed with the Rankin County School District where she was a 7th and 8th grade teacher at Brandon Middle School in Brandon, MS. Christy was on the Brandon Show Choir Board and served as the Special Events Coordinator. She was also a former President of the PTO at Brandon Middle School. Christy was an active member of Crossgates Baptist Church where she also served as a former Director of Mothers of Pre-Schoolers (MOPS). She loved playing tennis and was involved with several tennis leagues. Christy was a life-long and avid Mississippi State Fan and was a Loaded Tea lover. She also enjoyed playing Bunko and Trivia with her weekly trivia competition groups in Brandon.

Christy is survived by her husband, Col. John H. Singleton; two children, Brianna Michelle Singleton and Blake Mitchell Singleton; mother, Carol Ann Box; two brothers, Lamar Box and Clifton Box; niece, Lucy Box; nephew, Wyatt Box and many other loving family members. She is preceded in death by her father, Thurman Box.
