Clarence Lee "Red" Mcmillan

Morton, MS

Mr. Clarence “Red” McMillan, age 78, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on January 2, 2022.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 12:30pm-2:30pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.  Graveside service will be held 3pm Tuesday at Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Cemetery.  Bro. Vic Bowman will officiate the services.  Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. McMillan was born in Rankin County on November 7, 1943.  He was a self-employed house framer, foundation finisher and scored concrete.  Red enjoyed going to the horse races and running the ponies.  In his younger days he was a great basketball player and played with a team called, The Galloping Dominoes.   His family said, “he was brilliant with numbers and could figure things in his head quickly when asked.”  Red loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry E. McMillan and Vera Jewell Wade McMillan; siblings, Ouida Stepp (James), Paul McMillan, Ruby Bray and George McMillan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Amanda McMillan of Brandon; daughter, Michelle Holifield (Jody) of Brandon; sister-in-law, Evelyn McMillan; brother-in-law, Alford Bray; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie McMillan, Eric McMillan, Kevin Holifield, Keith Coghlan, Corey Sullivan and Jim Stepp.
