Clifton Douglas “Doug” Rouse, 66, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018.  Visitation will be 4-8pm Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.  Services will be 12 Noon Friday, October 19, at All Seasons Worship Center in Forest, MS with a visitation starting at 11am.  Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS.

Doug was born in Hattiesburg, MS on June 21, 1952, to Hazzie Curtis “HC” Rouse and Ilava Bowman Rouse.  He graduated from Pearl High School in 1970 and attended Lee College in Cleveland, TN.  Doug started working in the freight line industry at Sharron Freight later working at Yellow Freight where he retired after many years of service.  After retiring he started his own business selling firewood and had many loyal customers.

Bro. Doug enjoyed serving his church and his church family in many roles.  He also preached the Cowboy Church service every Sunday morning at Tadlock Stockyards in Forest, MS.  He was passionate while working in the funeral industry in Rankin County for many years as an assistant funeral director while also selling burial insurance.  He was so excited when his son followed in his footsteps as a funeral director.

Survivors include his daughter, Shion Rouse Jones and husband Matthew of Pearl; grandson, Joshua “JJ” Rouse McCullogh of New Orleans; mother, Ilava Rouse of Pearl, MS; siblings, Jean Pinter (Marvin), Wayne Rouse (Charlotte), Norman Rouse (Star) and Sandra Gilbert; many nieces and nephews; and his children’s mother, Cathy Jenkins.  He was preceded in death by his father, HC Rouse and his son, Joshua Douglas Rouse.  He will be greatly missed by his many friends whom he loved and cherished.
