Clyde Davis Risher, age 86, a resident of the Pulaski community near Morton, died Monday, May 11, 2015 following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Thursday, May 14, 2015 from the chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment to follow in the Faulkner Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5pm-8pm Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Rev. LaVern Summerlin, Rev. Don Lum and Rev. Joe Crain will officiate.
Mr. Risher was born in Scott County to his parents Atley Peek Risher and Alma Jewel Carpenter Risher on September 28, 1928. He was a longtime member of New Zion Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Risher was a self-employed businessman, owning and operating Risher Machine Shop until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; Wade H. Risher and Glen A. Risher.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 66 years; Lula Bell Risher, four children; Clyde W. “Shot” Risher (Tam) of Sebastopol, MS. Sherrye R. Matthews of Madison, MS. Judy R. Harvey (John) of Colleyville, TX and Laurie R. Turnipseed (Chris) of Eupora, MS. Mr. Risher also leaves behind a legacy of ten grandchildren; Krisan Risher Williams, Kimberly Risher Watkins, Karin Matthews, Drew Matthews, Mary Ellen Matthews Lea, Alison Harvey, Stephanie Harvey, Caroline Harvey, Lindsey Turnipseed, Lacey Turnipseed, four great-grandchildren; Chandler Norman, Parker Norman, Jacob Williams and Savannah Williams.
Pallbearers are Glen Risher, Sidney Lum, Dennis Lum, Chandler Norman, Drew Matthews and Bill Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are John Paul Risher, Randy Lum and Terry Crotwell.
