Clyde Morris Ward

Clyde Morris Ward went home to be with the Lord on Monday April 21st at 7a.m. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also a kind and generous man to all who came to know him. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to helping others and was a lifelong advocate for blind and handicapped people. He was a remarkable human being, and his presence will be sorely missed.

Morris was born on October 17th, 1939, in Lena MS. He was the son of Birdie Katherine and Chester Clyde Ward. From age 9 he attended the Mississippi School for the Blind. Once he graduated, he went to the University of Southern Mississippi, where he pursued a degree in counseling. Upon completing his studies, he went into the Business Enterprise Program with the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. With the help of his wife Patsy, he operated Ward’s Rehab Vending company for over 50 years.

He is preceded in Heaven by his father Chester Clyde Ward, his mother Birdie Katherine Ward, his grandson Garrett Mason Ward and his granddaughter Katherine Novelle Simpson. He is survived by his wife Patsy Day Ward, his daughter Regina Simpson, his son Gary Morris Ward and his grandson Benjamin Simpson.

Morris will be honored in a celebration of life beginning with a visitation on Tuesday April 22nd from 5p.m. to 7p.m. The service will be held at Ott and Lee funeral home in Brandon at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday April 23rd preceded by a visitation ceremony beginning at 12:00 p.m.
