Clyde Hilton Knight, 91, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation is 6-8 pm Tuesday at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and 10 am Wednesday at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Services are 11 am Wednesday at the church with burial in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mr. Knight was a lifelong resident of Rankin County and a member of Pelahatchie United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a longtime employee of South Central Bell. Mr. Knight loved gospel music, gardening, attending senior citizens group meetings around the county, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son, Gary Knight (Jamie) of Pearl; daughters, Janice Williams (Richard) of Meridian and Joy Mounce (Martin) of Plant City, Florida; grandchildren, Amanda Knight of Hurley, Matt Williams of Meridian, Melanie Williams of Purvis and Martin Mounce, Jr. of Plant City, Florida. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren and was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Knight in 2004.
