Mr. Colan Creel, age 90, of Walnut Grove died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest.
Funeral services of Mr. Colan Bradley Creel were conducted Friday, October 31, 2014 at 10am from the Reid Chapel Church of God near Sebastopol with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Reid Chapel Church of God, 2491 Hwy. 492 W., Sebastopol, MS. Rev. Harmon Smith officiated.
Mr. Creel was born September 4, 1924 to Bradley and Effie Tune Creel, at Conehatta. He resided in Greenfield, IN for a number of years and moved back to this area in 1988. He was a retired equipment operator for Roberts Construction and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Reid Chapel Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Ronald Creel.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lela Harrison Creel of Walnut Grove, MS; five children: Steve Creel of Indianapolis, IN; Dorothy Fairchild and her husband, Jim of Springport, IN; Terry Creel, Gary Creel, and Scott Creel, all of Walnut Grove, MS; two sisters: Audie Loper and Bonnie Griffin, both of Conehatta, MS; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steve Creel Aaron Mangum, Pat Creel, Tyler Marcum, Wayne Griffin and Randall Griffin.
Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.
