Constance Cooper Lagardere, 92, a resident of Brandon, MS passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with the interment to follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS. Visitation will be held from 12-1 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. Steve Wilson will officiate the services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mrs. Lagardere was a native of Simpson County. She was the daughter of Weldon E. and Vesta Grantham Cowan. She was married to Lloyd E. Lagardere. Mrs. Lagardere was the owner of Sandifer Grill in Jackson, MS and the Brandon Café in Brandon, MS in the mid 1950’s. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for Blue Cross in New Orleans, LA. She lived many years in New Orleans, LA before moving back to Brandon, MS. She was a very classy lady that took great pride in her family. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
Mrs. Lagardere was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Lagardere; parents, Weldon E. and Vesta Grantham Cowan, sister, Jo McAnally and brother, Gene Cowan.
Mrs. Lagardere is survived by her son, Henry E. “Dickey” (Doris) Cooper of Summit, MS; sister, Betty Cowan Stewart of Brandon, MS; nieces, Sheila Ford, Liz (Daniel) Ballenger; Tina (Chas) Gualano; Andrea McGuffee and Amanda Ford; several great-great nieces and nephews.
