Cornelia Nell “Connie” Thomas, age 79, died Wednesday August 21, 2013 at Woodland Court in Newton, MS following a brief illness.
She was born in Scott County on October 19, 1933 to her parents Marion J. Thomas and Catherine Rape Thomas. She had been a resident of Forest and later Birmingham, AL where she had retired as a mortgage banker. She was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include several cousins; Mary Elizabeth Smith (J.D.), Jason Smith (Nicole), Tanner and Tobey Smith, Samantha Stroud (David), Dallas and Grant Stroud, Betty Ann Ward, Ronda Raye, Greg Raye, Ronda Smith, Jimmy Thomas, Donna Thomas, Robert Thomas, Vicki McAlpine, Debbie Harmon and numerous other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held by the family at Salem Baptist Church on Sunday morning September 1, 2013 immediately following the regular worship service.
