Craig Alan Kennedy
Craig Alan Kennedy, 72, of Brandon, MS died on December 29 at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Craig suffered cardiac arrest while walking his beloved dog Dallas on Christmas morning in Angel Fire, New Mexico. Craig was born in Philadelphia, MS to Moncreath (Bud) and Ruth Ingram Kennedy.
Craig graduated from Neshoba Central High School (Class of 1968) and Mississippi State University with a B. S. degree in Biology. In 2016, Craig retired from a 35-year career in the oil fields of Southern Louisiana.
Craig was a member of Christ United Jackson and a beloved member of the Friendship Sunday School Class where he faithfully served as facilitator of a Zoom Class for those unable to attend in person.
Craig is survived by his wife of 15 years Mary Jane Kennedy; one daughter Joni Baugh of Baton Rouge, LA; three stepsons Jay Jones of Baton Rouge, LA; Bryan Jones-Granfield (Jason) of San Diego, CA; Trent Jones (Daniel) of Dallas, TX; two step grandchildren Jillian and Jayden Granfield of San Diego, CA; sisters Susan Kennedy Simmons of Philadelphia, MS; Janet Kennedy of Brandon, MS; and Lisa Kennedy Perkins (Tom) of Philadelphia, MS; and scores of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be at Ott and Lee in Brandon, MS from 5:30 – 8:00 on Saturday, January 6 and from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 7 at Christ United Jackson located at 6000 Old Canton Road, Jackson, MS with the service at 2:00 at Christ United. Interment will be at the Hembree Family Cemetery in Philadelphia, MS after the service.
