Mr. Curtis Parker, Jr. age 89 passed away at his residence on September 12, 2015. There will be a graveside service for Mr. Parker held Wednesday, September the 16, 2015 at the New Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 pm with the burial immediately following. Visitation for Mr. Curtis Parker will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Curtis Parker was born August 8, 1926 in Laurel, MS to his parents Curtis T. Parker, Sr., and Cora Hastings Parker. He loved hunting and spending time with his family. Curtis also enjoyed gardening and as one member of the family said, "It was more like farming, than gardening." He liked doing electrical work and trucking, and he even liked driving a school bus, but one of the things that gave him great satisfaction was being a mechanic. He loved working on automobiles and Curtis did this for many years. He was a member of the New Goodhope Baptist Church in Pulaski, MS and lived in the area for over 64 years.
Mr. Parker is preceded in death by his wife, Leola Parker; his sons, Joseph Parker, Thomas Parker, and step son Tommie Parkman; his parents, Curtis and Cora Parker; and also all of his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Curtis is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Parker; and grandchildren, Angelia Parker, Westley Parker, Steven Parker, Michelle Parker, Thomas Parker Jr., Cory Parker, Greg Parkman, Tom Parkman, Ken Parkman, Nancy Kramer, and Kenny Thomas; other survivors are his special daughter-in-law, Doreen Parkman; stepdaughter Angie Parkman and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Westley Parker, Steven Parker, Thomas Parker, Cory Parker, Greg Parkman, Gauge Parker and as honorary pallbearer, Mark Faulkenberry.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.
