PEARL
Mr. Curtis Junior Runnels, age 67, a resident of Pearl passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the VA Hospital in Jackson. Visitation was held 5-9pm Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Service was held 10am Wednesday from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial at Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery. Rev. Joe Crane and Rev. Bob Smith officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Runnels was born in Magee, MS in 1944. Curtis loved to fish and ride around the farm with his friend, Otis Garner. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #92. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He received many medals which include, Code of Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, ATP Medal and a Purple Heart. He loved his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Travis Runnels and Mazie Vondell Maddox Runnels and 2 brothers, Fred and Johnny Runnels.
Survived by his son, Travis Runnels (Lizabeth) of Magee; sister, Dora Runnels Wilson of Whiteoak; 6 brothers, James Runnels (Dot) of Magee, Travis Marlon Runnels of Morton, Jackie Dell Runnels of Pearl, Robert Ray Runnels (Betty) of Morton, Thomas Earl Runnels of Pelahatchie and Patrick David Runnels (Barbara) of Pearl; 3 grandchildren, Drew Runnels (Constance), Abby McMullan (Tyler) and Kyle Runnels; 3 great grandchildren, Ethan McMullan, Jackson McMullan and Sophia Runnels and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Danny Rushing, Jim Susz, Chris Wilson, Craig Wilson, David Runnels and Richard Runnels. Honorary pallbearers were Drew Runnels and Kyle Runnels.
