Daisy Burns, age 85, a lifelong resident of Raleigh, died Friday August 25, 2017 following an extended illness.
Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Monday, August 28, 2017 from the Salem Baptist Church near Raleigh with interment in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Nicki Walker and Rev. Barron Price officiated.
Mrs. Burns was born on Saturday, May 7, 2932 in Monticello, MS to her parents Wash Lambert and Ella Davis Lambert. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Raleigh. She retired as a machine operator from ManuTech in 1992. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Jessie Reeves, son James Burns a grand-daughter Tabitha Staley a great grandson Jonathan Webb and her husband Jessie Ray Burns.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Faye Kazery of Raleigh, Wanda Womack (Mike Bynum) of Mendenhall, a son Charles Burns (Sue) of Petal. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Dezzie Kruger and Nell Hart (Johnny) all of Ennis, TX and a brother Johnny Arender of Raleigh. She leaves a legacy of 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Keith Bowen, Anthony Burns, Scotty Reeves, Joey Burns, Jeremy Cockrell, Josh Leamond, Scott Harrell, Cody Culpepper and Steven Taylor.
