Brandon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dale Mitchell Smith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Born on October 28, 1952, Dale lived a life full of passion, love, and dedication to his family and his many interests. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and deep love.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Doris Ann Smith and Louis Wilson Smith, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms. He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy Smith; his devoted children: Jeffrey Mitchell Smith, Lorie Ann Hanson (her husband, James Nathan Hanson, and their children, James Carter Hanson and Elizabeth Paige Hanson), and Elizabeth Danielle Smith (her husband, Christopher John Lloyd). He is also survived by his stepchildren: Ryan Garrett (his wife, Amanda Garrett, and their children, Hannah, Madelynn, and Zack) and Nathan Sharp (and his children, Rylee and Logan). Dale is also survived by his brothers, Terry Smith (and his wife, Robyn Smith), Mike Smith (and his wife, Sonya Smith), as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews

Dale honorably served his country in the Army and dedicated his career to the automotive industry. He was well-known for his passion for classic cars and had a remarkable ability to connect with people, which made him not only an exceptional professional but also a friend to many.

When Dale wasn’t working, his greatest joy was spending time with his family and doting on his grandchildren. From taking them fishing to cheering them on at their sports games. Dale’s adventurous spirit extended to the great outdoors and motocross at a younger age; he was an avid sportsman who cherished his hunting and fishing trips with his son Jeffrey. His love for the beach was evident in the many trips spent by the ocean with his beloved wife, Betsy, where they created countless beautiful memories together.

Dale will be remembered for his love of his family, his love for life, and his infectious smile that brightened every room. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Fannin, 101 Church Rd, Brandon, MS. Visitation will be on Saturday, September 28th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the funeral service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to First Baptist Church of Fannin in Dale’s memory.
