Dalton George Jenkins, 87, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at his daughter’s home in Brandon. Visitation is 5 pm until 8 pm Friday, February 18, 2011, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 2:30 pm Saturday at the funeral home with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.Dalton was born in Philadelphia, MS to Andrew Virgil Jenkins and Osie E. Clark Jenkins on Oct 5, 1923. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, and received the EAME TO, Good Conduct and WW II Victory Medals and during the Korean War he earned the Korean Service Medal with Two Bronze Stars. Dalton worked for 41 years as an auto body mechanic for Dumas Milner later becoming Herrin Gear and retiring in 1986. He was a very devoted father to five children.He was preceded in death by 4 children, twins, Patsy Lane and Carol Jane Jenkins, Jackie Jenkins and Marvin Jenkins.He is survived by his children, David Jenkins of La Grange, GA, Cirie Jenkins Keen of Brandon, MS and Paula Jenkins Long of Kingsville, MO; two sisters, Jerelene Buckles and Jane Watkins; brother, Jimmy Jenkins and 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
