Daniel Arnett (Danny) Husbands, 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS, surrounded by family and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5 until 8 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, and again Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Crossgates Baptist Church from 1 until 2 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Crossgates Baptist Church at 2 pm with burial to follow in Lakewood Memorial Park with Military Honors.
Danny was born in Jackson Mississippi on September 10, 1956 to the late Henry Brian and Carolyn Morgan Husbands. He was a graduate of Provine High School in Jackson and served in the U.S. Air Force. Danny worked for the U. S. Postal Service for over 30 years and retired as Postmaster in Pelahatchie, MS. He was a member and Deacon at Crossgate Baptist Church in Brandon.
Danny enjoyed performing in plays at Black Rose Theatre and Crossgates Baptist Church. After retirement, he had time to enjoy cycling, running, and swimming. He supported his children in all their endeavors.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jean Grace.
Survivors include his wife of almost 27 years, Linda Jackson Husbands of Pearl; two children, Ellen Husbands and Benjamin Husbands both of Pearl, MS; a sister, Barbara Fields of Brilliant, Ala; two brothers, his twin, Brian Husbands of Dallas, TX and Mike Husbands (Jeannie) of Brandon, MS.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital; Crossgates Baptist Church; or charity of choice.
