BURIAL: 3 PM FRIDAY AT LINDSEY CEMETERY IN WALNUT GROVE

VISITATION: 5-8 PM THURSDAY AND 9:30 AM FRIDAY AT OTT AND LEE IN BRANDON


Daniel Farmer Stubbs, 76, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood. Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Services are 11 am Friday at the funeral home with a 3 pm graveside at Lindsey Cemetery in Walnut Grove.

Danny was a native of Scott County and a longtime resident of the Jackson area. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Fannin and a former member of Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton where he served as a Sunday School teacher and worked with the bus ministry. Danny was a graduate of Mississippi State University and worked as a CPA for many years. He was formerly employed by the Mississippi Forestry Commission, Ernst and Young CPA Firm, Entergy, McCarty Holman Company and had served as Treasurer of Jitney Jungle Stores of America. He also had been employed by the Mississippi Tax Commission and the Mississippi Development Authority. Danny was currently serving as a Commissioner for the Reservoir Fire Department and had served on many state and local political campaigns.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Carraway Stubbs of Brandon; daughter, Nancy D. Stubbs Madewell (Jared) of Clarksville, TN; son, Timothy F. Stubbs of Brandon; sisters, Jean Stubbs Townsend of Harperville and Linda Stubbs Lott of Dallas; brother, Bobby Stubbs of Walnut Grove; grandsons, Ilya and Ruslan Stubbs of Brandon. He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Bloxum “Bo” Stubbs.

The family request memorials to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church in Fannin, 101 Church Street, Brandon, MS 39047.
