Mr. Danny Ivy, age 64, a resident of the Barefoot Springs Community passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Visitation was held 5-8pm Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and 10am-10:45am Friday at the funeral home. Services were held 11am Friday, March 17, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Springhill Cemetery. Bro. Tal Vardaman officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Mr. Ivy was born in Scott County on December 22, 1952. He loved being outdoors on his tractor and also enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. Danny and his wife, Sharon loved traveling and riding their motorcycles. He loved helping his wife with her pottery. Danny loved being creative with the making of his metal horseshoe artwork. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Ray Ivy and Betty Jean Thompson Ivy; brother, Tommy Ray Ivy and father-in-law, Wilbur Glenn Merchant.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Ivy of Pelahatchie; 2 children, Summer Hammett and husband, Phillip of Benton, AR and Chance J. Ivy and wife, Sara of Brandon; sister, Brenda Joyce Ivy Rogers and husband, Phillip of Pelahatchie; brother, Melvin Eugene Ivy of Pelahatchie; 5 grandchildren, Lennon Young, Daxton Hammett, Jude Hammett, CJ Ivy and Bascom Ivy; mother-in-law, Dolly Merchant of Pelahatchie; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Pallbearers were Tracy Ivy, Jason Ivy, John Rogers, Ryan Baughman, Buck Alman, Dusty Alman, Ryan Brown, Donald “Duck” Crabtree, Chad Parker and Joe Welch. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Allen, Ricky Ivy, Randy Renfroe, Jerry Henry and Ellie Ray Stevenson.
