PELAHATCHIE
Mr. Danny Adam Parker, age 39, a resident of Pelahatchie, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Visitation was held 5pm – 8pm Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton and resumed 11am – 2pm Friday, May 14, 2010 at Barefoot Springs Baptist Church. Funeral services were held 2pm Friday, May 14, 2010 at Barefoot Springs Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Jerry Owen, Rev. Carter Fortenberry and Bro. Brian Parker officiated the services.
Mr. Parker was a lifelong resident of Rankin County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved talking to people about the Bible. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and working in his garden. But most of all Danny loved telling people about his Lord and Savior. Danny was doing what he loved to do when he passed away and that was witnessing to people. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by two grandfathers, Chester Gould and Barney Parker and mother, Linda Violet Cannon.
Survivors include his wife, Shellea Leona Todd Parker of Pelahatchie; father, Billy Ray Parker (Becky) of Pelahatchie; 3 sons, Hunter Adam Parker of Southhaven, Salem Terrell Todd of Pelahatchie and Dylan Ryan Parker of Pelahatchie; daughter, Amori Rene Todd of Pelahatchie; 3 brothers, James Lee Reid of Baton Rouge, Barney Ray Parker of Baton Rouge and Victor Shane Parker of Starkville; 3 sisters, Ashleigh Latham Dickerson of Pelahatchie, Elizabeth Latham Blakeney of Pelahatchie and DeAnna Lanae Latham Parker of Hattiesburg; grandmother, Lodena Gould of Leesburg; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Matthew Blakeney, Joseph Dickerson, Steven Denson, Kevin Ingram, Mike Allen Brett Denson, Josh Frith and Klint Warren. Honorary pallbearers were Sydney Lum, Brian Parker and David Parker.
Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.
