David Wayne Smith, 60, a resident of Brandon, MS died, April 1, 2016 at home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, April 4, 2016 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS with the interment following at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Simpson County. Visitation will be held Sunday from 5pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS.
Mr. Smith was born on July 16, 1955 to Thomas Freddy “Pat” Smith and Gussie Jo McLendon Lippman. He was a mechanic many years and worked for Griffin Industries. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brandon. He loved his family very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Freddy “Pat” Smith and Gussie Jo McLendon Lippman; brother, Tommy Smith and sister, Beth Irwin.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Waits and her husband John; three grandchildren, Ella, Miller and Addison Waits; her sisters, Lela Smith and Janet Yarborough; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
