David Vick

David Byron Vick, age 78, a resident of Pearl, MS passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 pm Friday, November 26, 2021, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS and 12:00 pm Saturday at the church. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, November 27, 2021, Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Brookhaven, MS with interment at Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery.

Mr. Vick was a native of Peoria, IL. He was born on December 8, 1942, to Raymond Vick and Betty Jean Sowers Vick. He was married to Rita Faye Redd Vick. Mr. Vick worked as a diesel mechanic many years before retiring and then worked at Wal-Mart as a door greeter many years during retirement. He enjoyed watching Sprint car racing. He loved his family and friends very much and spending time with them brought great joy to his life. He will be missed by all who loved and knew him.

Mr. Vick was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Vick and Betty Jean Sowers Vick and his brother Stephen L. Vick.

Mr. Vick is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rita Faye Redd Vick; daughter, Rebecca Faye Vick (Richard) Watkins; grandchildren, Cheyla Watkins, Hannah Watkins, Justin “Eli” Watkins, Aidan Watkins and Thomas “Ryder” Watkins; sister, Monica (Ed) Manzella; brother, Shon Vick; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
