Mr. David Ronald “Ronnie” Thrash, age 63, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015 in Greenwood, MS. Visitation was held 5-9pm Sunday, June 07, 2015 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services were held 2pm Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in the Branch Baptist Cemetery. Bro. Michael Giles officated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mr. Thrash was born in Scott County on January 16, 1952. He was a Security Officer for the Reservoir Patrol for many years and enjoyed being a farmer. He was proud to have served in the United States Air Force. Ronnie was a member of the Branch Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Ealy Thrash and Fannie Mae Thrash and Perry and Alma Bennett; sister, Carolyn Thrash Jordan and wife, Charlene Coward Thrash.
He is survived by his son, Travis Thrash and wife, Kayla of Louisiana; father, Leon Thrash (Nell) of Lake; mother, Carlene Thrash of Morton; brother, Clay Thrash (Katie) of Pelahatchie; fiance, Felicia Brown of Morton; 4 grandchildren, Caiden Thrash, Brycen Thrash, Jaxon Thrash and Josh Porter; other relatives and a host of friends.
Serving as pallbearers were Coty Brown, Corey Brown, Cody Jackson, Rick Witcher, Jamie Porter and Josh Merchant. Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Jordan, Jimmy Withers, Tommy Withers, Jones Brogdon and members of the Reservoir Patrol.
