Dr. Dean Purtzer

Dr. Dean D. Purtzer,91, a resident of Brandon, MS went home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning, October 24, 2017 with his wife at his side in their home. The memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Dean was born in Madison, NE February 13, 1926. He was married to Dorian Guettler Purtzer for 65 years. He graduated from Madison, NE highschool and then joined the United States Air Force during World War II. He late attended Wayne State College in Wayne, NE. He attended Podiatry College in Chicago, IL where he received his Doctorate degree in Podiatry in 1951. Dean then practiced Podiatry in Columbus, NE with his wife as his nurse until 1979 when they moved to Mississippi and practiced in Jackson, MS until his retirement in 1991.
Dean Enjoyed football, basketball, golfing, fishing, bird hunting, boating and water skiing.
Dean is survived by his wife, Dorian Purtzer; brother, Dr. J.W. Purtzer of Greenfield, IA; sisters-in-law, Faye Purtzer and Anita Janzow; brother-in-law, Rev. Ronald Quettler and his wife Marilyn.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jim Purtzer and brother, Dr. H.C. Purtzer.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1799 Clinton-Raymond Road, Clinton, MS 39056-9622.
