Denver D. Daniel, age 80, a resident of Forest died Thursday April 17, 2014 surrounded by his family following an extended illness.Funeral services were conducted at 2pm Saturday April 19, 2014 from the Leaf River Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation was held from 5pm-8pm Friday April 18, 2014 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest and again Saturday at Leaf River Baptist Church from 1:30pm till service time. Rev. Danny Dickerson and Rev. Max Price will officiated.Mr. Daniel was born in Smith County on April 13, 1934 to his parents Denver Euel Daniel and Bernice Webb Daniel. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He then worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for 20 years. He was a member of Leaf River Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers; Bennett E. Daniel and Clevie W. Daniel.Survivors include his wife of 52 plus years, Mable D. Daniel of Forest, 1 daughter; Stephanie D. Ellis (Dale) of Dacula, GA. Two grandchildren; Cortland Ellis and Sophia Ellis both of Dacula, GA. Five sisters; Winnie Harrison (Robert) of Forest, MS. Margaret McCaffrey (Don) of Brandon, MS. Pansy Martin (Ross) of Columbus, GA. Deone Tisdale (Kenny) of Madison, MS. Gwen Arinder of Forest, MS and one brother; William W. Daniel (Wanda) of Clinton, MS and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers are Kevin Martin, Tim Martin, Brandon Arinder, Robbie McCaffrey, Walter Daniel and Glen Nalley.Funeral services were provided by Ott & Lee Funeral Home of Forest.Telephone (601) 469-3412.
