Diane Rhodes Davis

Diane Rhodes Davis (75) of Pelahatchie, Mississippi, passed away Monday, February 24, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Visitation will be at The Church at Shiloh on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Stephen Buys officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. 

Mrs. Davis was born September 30, 1949, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Luther Warren Rhodes and Fannie Hollingsworth Rhodes. She lived her entire life in the Crossroads community of Pelahatchie. She married Linn Ray Davis in November of 1968, and they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage. They were blessed with two wonderful children, Karen Lynn Davis Wofford and Dwayne Ray Davis, whom they reared in the Crossroads Community.

She happily worked for Forestry Suppliers as a purchasing agent for 40 years. She cherished the close friendships she shared with coworkers there.

She was a lifelong member of The Church at Shiloh, and her Christian faith was clearly evident to all who knew her. Second only to her love of the Lord was her love for her family. She always considered their needs above her own. She tirelessly and selflessly cared for her husband, children, and grandchildren, always finding a reason to feed them one of her delicious meals or snacks. Those who knew her best would agree that through her life she made others’ lives richer. 

Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving husband, Linn Ray Davis; daughter, Karen Wofford (Patrick); son, Dwayne Davis (Jennifer); seven grandchildren, Coltan Wofford (Devinie), Carson Wofford Hardin (Landon), Preston Wofford, Austin Davis (Jamie), Brady Davis (Skylar), Caleb Davis, and Sarah Elizabeth Davis; four great grandchildren, Miller, Sarren, Anne Helen, and Estelle, and one great grandchild on the way, Jordan Hardin; sisters, Carol Chancellor, Donna Miller (Gene), and Vickie Buys (Rusty); and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.

The family is grateful for all who have loved and cared for Mrs. Davis in recent months.
