Georgia Diane Vanderford Russum, 51, left a legacy of overwhelming love and kindness which will remain in the hearts of her friends and family for an eternity. She was born in Mendenhall, MS on September 3, 1964. She passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 5 until 8 pm and Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 9 am until the 10 am Chapel Service at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Burial will follow in the Puckett Community Cemetery in Puckett, MS.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, George and Fannie Mae Vanderford and sister Carolyn Vanderford of Puckett, MS. She is survived by her husband, Charlie Russum of Brandon, t hree sons and their wives, Arlie and Katie Russum of Philadelphia, MS, Joseph and Stephanie Russum of Brandon, MS, and Thomas and Nena Russum of Brandon, MS; one godson, Timmy King of Mendenhall, MS; seven grandchildren, Brayden, Jesse, Aubree, Cooper, Bryce, Wyatt, and Nathan; one sister, Martha Cottle (John)of Puckett, MS; two brothers, Bill Vanderford (Wesla) of Puckett, MS and John Vanderford (Rhonda) of Ridgeland, MS; two nieces, Emily Anderson (Sim) of Puckett MS and Sara Tuggle (Chris) of Ridgeland, MS.
Diane was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, Nana and friend. She showed the true definition of love everyday, rarely meeting a stranger, and anyone she ever met called her a friend. She opened her heart and home to everyone. She loved her husband, kids, and grandkids, “to the moon and back”.
