Dixie White

Dixie Merle Madison White, 76, passed away, Thursday January 3, 2019 at her residence in Kalem, MS. Dixie was born April 6, 1942, to George N. and Emma Crain Madison of Kalem, MS. She was a beloved admissions clerk at Charter Behavior Health Center and Doctors Hospital in Jackson, MS. She also helped see to the family business, White’s Restaurant, for 37 years along side her husband, Nollie White.  She was a faithful member of Kalem United Methodist Church where she found joy in serving as Choir Director for many years. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS, with Bro. George Felts and Bro. Scott Adcox officiating. Burial will be in Kalem, MS at Kalem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Nollie White; son Creighton White (Catrina); son Jason White (Amanda); two grandchildren, Jessica White Nanney (Phillip); Brock White (Whitney); five great-grandchildren Arden Nanney, Bristol Nanney, Tripp Nanney, Tatum White, and baby White to be born in June. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, George and Emma Crain Madison; brother, Robert Gill. Pallbearers will be Jerry L. Crain, Dwayne Madison, Kenny Stevens, Mitchell White, Chester White, Kevin White, James Johnson, and Chad White. Honorary Pallbearers are James White, Brock White, and Phillip Nanney. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home. Additional viewing time will be held from 12-1 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2019 with service following at 2 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home.
