Don Turberville

Gerald Donald “Don” Turberville, age 84 of Brandon, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 14, 2023, with his wife by his side.

A Celebration of Don’s Life will be Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:30am at Brandon Baptist Church with visitation starting at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Gardens.

He was born on June 2, 1939, in Uriah, Alabama to the late Willard West Turberville and Mary Nell Hayles Turberville. Don was raised in Alabama and Mississippi. Upon graduation from Batesville High School in Batesville, Mississippi, he enlisted in United States Air Force and served a four-year tour of duty in Korea and Japan. He then attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College in Senatobia, MS and later graduated from the University of Mississippi with a major in Accounting. He was employed by the Internal Revenue Service as an Auditor for 29 years. He was also a Certified Public Accountant and was a member of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants for over 47 years. He was a charter member of the Crossgates Exchange Club and coached soccer for several years and was very proud of the fact that he was an ordained Deacon by Crossgates Baptist Church. He served the Lord faithfully for many years. He was a member of Brandon Baptist Church. In retirement he enjoyed Genealogy.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy Sue Robertson Turberville of Brandon, MS; sons, Scott (Lisa) Turberville of Sharon, South Carolina and David (Susan Mock) Turberville of Wyckoff, New Jersey; grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Turberville and step grandchildren, Aidan and Alex Mock.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund.
