Donald Dukes, 66, passed away at home on Sat. Oct. 6, 2012. He was born Dec. 24, 1945 in Magee, MS and grew up in Pearl and Flowood. He was a member of the armed forces in the U.S. Air Force. He lead a happy, joyful life. Mr. Dukes worked in sales at Floral Hills Memory Gardens for many, many years. He was an expert backhoe operator. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Patricia Dukes.
Mr. Dukes is survived by his four daughters, Donna K. Dukes of Newton, MS, Windy Cape of Brandon, MS, Teresa McPherson of Brandon, MS, and Melonie Overby of Brandon, MS. He also leaves behind four precious grandchildren, Abbygail Dukes, of Newton, MS, Austin Cape of Brandon, MS, Kara Lamb of Terry, MS, and James Overby of Brandon, MS; one great-granddaughter, Gracie Ann Overby; his brother, Kennith Dukes of Polkville, MS and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services were 2pm. Mon. Oct. 8, 2012 at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl, MS where he was laid to rest by his loving wife, Pat. Rev. Bill Grissom officiated the services and pallbearers were James Overby, Roger McManus, Fred Haynes, Thomas Hammon, Danny Manning and Mike May. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS handled the arrangements.
