Doris Bishop, age 84, and a lifelong resident of the area, died peacefully Friday, July 22, 2022, with her children by her side following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30am, Monday, July 25, 2022, from the Homewood Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9am till 11am at OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest.
She was born on Tuesday, October 19, 1937, in Scott County to her parents George Earl Brown and Peggy Jones Brown. During her life she worked for the Thomas Great M Store, the Shell station on Hwy. 35 and at Penn’s Restaurant. She especially loved her family and being with friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Carroll Gregory, and her second husband Murphy Driskell Bishop.
Survivors include her two daughters; Tammy Warren of Homewood, Pam Sanford (Tommy) of Huntsville, AL., a sister, Linda Blissett of Utica. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren; Ashlee Coley (Shannon), Brady Warren (Katherine), and Boyd Sanford (Giselle), 2 great-grandchildren Neelie Coley and William Colbert.
Pallbearers are Tommy Sanford, Brady Warren, Boyd Sanford, and Shannon Coley.
