Doris Hester

Doris C. Hester, 95, of Raleigh, MS, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Magee General Hospital in Magee, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn and Verna Carpenter; her sisters, Margaret C. Russell and Mamie E. Carpenter; and her brother Herman O. Carpenter.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, James Homer Hester; her 2 children, Dianna H. McGowan and husband John of Canton, MS, and Peggy H. Rider and husband Jim of Randolph, NJ; and 1 grandchild, Anna Elizabeth McGowan of Oxford, MS.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest, MS. Service will be at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with burial at Trinity Methodist Church in Raleigh, MS.

The Hester family would like to thank the staff of MS Care Center of Raleigh, Lackey Convalescent Home in Forest, and St. Joseph Hospice.  In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Trinity Methodist Church, P.O.
