Doris Jones, Brandon, MS
Doris Elizabeth Fortune Jones, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2011. Visitation will be held at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Mississippi, Tuesday, July 12, 2011 from 10 to 11 a.m. with services immediately following in the chapel . A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Lexington, MS.
Mrs. Jones was born in Brandon and lived most of her married life in Lexington, Mississippi. She returned to Brandon in 2000 to live in the Andrew Chapel community were she was born and still has many relatives. She was a member of Andrew Chapel Methodist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilson “Billy” Jones, son, Kenneth "Kenny" Jones, brother, Leon Reuben "Bubba" Fortune and nieces, Diane Bramstedt and Lisa Harrison.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Fortune of Brandon, MS; nieces, Donna Young of St. Petersburg, FL, Sharon Francis of Houston, TX, and Susan Clark of Port Edwards, WI; nephew, David Leon Fortune of Brandon, MS and her lifelong friend, Elma Heffner of Lexington, MS.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to French Camp Academy or Mississippi Animal Rescue League
