Mrs. Doris Parker, age 90 a resident of the Leesburg Community received her heavenly wings on March 12, 2019. Her visitation will be held 5pm-7pm Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Funeral services will be held 2pm Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Leesburg Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Murphy Eubanks and Rev. Eugene Duran will officiate the services. There will be No graveside service. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Parker was born in Rankin County on April 7, 1928. She enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and growing her roses. Doris loved the Lord and faithfully followed her husband, Rev. J.W. Parker as he ministered to people throughout his life as a Pastor. She was a fantastic hostess to all the church families serving them meals and making them feel welcome in her and her husbands home. Doris was a wonderful wife, fantastic mother and loving grandmother, she put everyone else first over her needs. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.W. Parker; parents, John Caldwell Long and Drucilla Pace Long; children, Rebecca Parker, Glen Parker and Caroline Parker; 2 brothers, Edward Hoover and J.C. Long, Jr.; 3 sisters, Willie Mae Harrell, Juanita Harrell and Arvatus Jordan.
She is survived by her daughter, Libby Smith and husband, Franklin of Louisville; 2 grandchildren, Colen Smith and Lorri Smith; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorials are asked to be made to Indian Springs Assembly of God, Missions Fire Bibles, 301 Mt. Calvary Rd., Louisville, MS 39339.
