Doris June Pennington

Mrs. Doris Palmer Pennington, age 99, passed away on February 11, 2025, at her home in Pearl. Born on December 22, 1925, to, John and Lola Bradshaw Palmer, in Polkville MS. Mrs. Doris was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family, she was an avid gardener and loved yard work, everything had to be in place and straight. Mrs. Doris married Buford Pennington, and they had three children, June Doris Pennington Jones, Buford T. Pennington, Clark Pennington.

Mrs. Doris is preceded in death by her husband, Buford Pennington, son, Clark Pennington, granddaughter, Tammy Renee Jones, parents, John H. and Lola Palmer, brothers, Arlon Palmer, Herbert Palmer, Joe Palmer, and J.H. Palmer, sisters, Vera Jones, Gertrude Wade, and Carol Simmons.

Survived by two children, June Jones, (Buford) of Pearl, MS,  Dr. B. Timothy Pennington, (Esther) of Tyler, TX: nine grandchildren, Scott Jones of Polkville, Mark Jones (Debbie) of Polkville, Rick Jones (Tasha) of Pearl, Dr. Laurie Pennington of Branford, CT,  Ashley Pennington-Behr (Jason) of Dallas, TX, Katie Pennington-Bartlett (Barrett) of Sulphur, LA, Tiffany Coca, Chase Pennington, and Sam Pennington all of Brandon; twenty great-grandkids and eleven great-great grandkids.

Visitation will be1:00pm to 2:00pm Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Polkville First Baptist Church, with the Funeral Service following at 2:00pm at the church, Bro. Zach Kilpatrick and Bro. Gary Harper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott Jones, Mark Jones, Rick Jones, Daniel Jones, Marcus Jones and Chase Pennington.

Honorary pallbearers, Gabriel Pennington, Wesley Pennington, Sam Pennington, Alex Jones, Dillon Jones, Dustin Jones, Max Jones, Markie Coca, and Evin Jones.
