Doris French Rice born August 19th of 1925 went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 13, 2015. She was a life long active member of First Baptist Church of Florence, MS. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and Nanoo. She was a gracious host and care giver. She loved spending time with her family, entertaining, and ministering to those in her community. She will leave a legacy that will be remembered by all those she met. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than sixty-seven years, Warren Norris Rice. She was also preceded in death by her son Richard David Rice. She is survived by her son Jeffery W Rice and his wife Jann of Florence, MS, daughter Sherry Ann Rice Emerson of Florence, MS, granddaughter Shann and her husband Josh Worsham of Grenada, MS, granddaughter Suzanne Donnell Rice of Memphis, TN, great granddaughter Addison Worsham of Grenada, MS, and grandsons Tyler and Sam Emerson of Florence, MS. Sisters Lois Kirby of Lakewood, CO and Mary Taylor of Florence, MS and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Richland, MS on March 15, 2015 from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Florence on March 16, 2015 at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Florence Building Fund.
