Doris Stubblefield died peacefully Saturday, December 22, 2018 with her daughter by her side. She was 92.
Doris was born September 22, 1926, in Star MS, to Paul and Lucille Russell. She graduated from Star High School. She met her husband, A.B. Stubblefield, while participating in a play at the school. Once they started dating they were inseparable. They married Dec. 22, 1943.
She loved to travel. She was definitely a "people person". She loved being around her friends: to know her was to love her. She was very outgoing and worked in sales all of her life, her last job being at Sal-Liz.
Doris attended Utica Baptist Church, where she met Billie Jo in her Sunday School class. Billie Jo is an art teacher and as soon as Doris found out, she signed up for her class. Doris was very talented and loved to paint.
One of the last things she said to her daughter, Linda, was "My story is coming to an end." She took her final breath Dec. 22, 2018 to meet her beloved A.B. once again exactly 75 years after she met him at the wedding altar.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, A.B. Stubblefield, brother, Jake Russell, and sisters, JoAnn Haynes and Patsy Weathersby.
