Mrs. Doris Carlene Thrash, age 84, a resident of Morton passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton. Visitation was held 2-8pm Friday, February 17, 2017 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services were held 2pm Saturday, February 18, 2017 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Ludlow Cemetery. Bro. Tal Vardaman officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. Thrash was born in Scott County on January 2, 1933. She loved to crochet and color and work in her yard. At Christmas she was known for making and giving her homemade peanut brittle. Doris Carlene loved to spend the day garage saleing. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl Perry Bennett and Nannie Alma Miller Bennett; son, Ronnie Thrash; daughter, Carolyn Jordan; brother, Mike Bennett and grandchild, Matthew Jordan.
She is survived by her son, Clay Thrash (Katie) of Rankin County; sisters, Hester Gardner of Harperville and Mavis Withers of Morton; brother, Nolan Bennett (Faye) of Isom, KY; 5 grandchildren, Teresa Witcher (Rick) of Attala County, Timmy Jordan (Shirley) of Rankin County, Kevin Jordan (Wendy) of Scott County, Chasity Thrash of Scott County and Travis Thrash (Kayla) of Rankin County; daugher-in-law, Felicia Thrash of Morton; several great grand children, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Tommy Withers, Rick Witcher, Darrell Brogden, Charlie Massey, Jonathan Massey and Timmy Jordan.
