Dorothy Lee Fortenberry

Mrs. Dorothy Lee Fortenberry, age 92, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, in Morton MS, surrounded by her family. Born on March 25, 1931, to William and Zettie Lee Bates Sumrall, she was one of eight children. Mrs. Dorothy lived most of her life in and around the Morton area. She married the late Charlie W. Fortenberry and God blessed them with four children. Hobbies of Mrs. Dorothy were, shopping, sewing, working in her flower garden, but spending time with her family brought her great joy.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William, and Zettie Sumrall; husband Charlie Fortenberry; all seven siblings; two children, Kenneth Charles, and James Oscar Fortenberry. Survived by two children, Peggy Renfroe, (Arley Jr.), William Carter Fortenberry, (Barbara), eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandkids and great-great grandkids. Dorothy got her name grand, grand from her first great grandson, Brandon Renfroe.

Visitation will be 9:00am to 1:50pm on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS, the Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm in the Chapel. Bro. Paul Smith and Wesley Parker will be Officiating the service. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Interment will be in Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery.
