Dorothy Goolsby

Dorothy Jean Goolsby, 60, a resident of Carthage, passed away at her home on January 12, 2025. 

Dorothy was a member of Sandhill Baptist Church in Arlington, MS. She was a beloved sister, daughter, mother, and grandmother. Visitation will be held at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Forest on Wednesday, January 15 from 5-8pm. 

Secondary visitation will be Thursday, January 16 at 10am, followed by funeral services in the chapel at 11am. Bro. Reggie Tatum will officiate. A graveside service and burial will follow the funeral service at Antioch Baptist Cemetery. 

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Nellie Goolsby; her grandson, Adain Dumas; and three brothers. 

She is survived by her three children: Johnny Goolsby, Jessica Dumas, and Coy Wayne “CW” Kitchens; Three brothers: Sam, Tony, and Johnny Goolsby; Two sisters: Mildred Risher and Iva Nell Wilcher; Six grandchildren: Bayleigh Goolsby, Justin Goolsby, Brandy Kittrell, Radain Dumas, Blain “Clyde” Goolsby, Creed King, and Job Goolsby; and two great grandchildren: Wrenligh and Dutton Johnson, and a host of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. 

Serving as pallbearers will be: Amanda Forsythe, Barbra Jean Goolsby, “CW” Kitchens, James Fortenberry, Johnny Goolsby, and Michael Windham.

Leslie Farmer will be an honorary pallbearer.
