Dorothy Hamilton

Mrs. Dorothy Lucille Hamilton, age 81 passed away on November 16, 2017 at the MS Care Center in Morton.  There will be a Memorial Service led by the family at a later date.

Mrs. Hamilton was born on May 4, 1936 to John A. and Lucille Anderson Latham in Scott County, MS.

She was Baptist by faith and has lived in Scott County area all her life.  She loved her family, granddaughter and friends very much.  She loved to fish and cherished her puppies.  She was a USDA Inspector for B C Rogers in the poultry business for approximately twenty years.

Dorothy was preceded in death by five other siblings; and her husband, Emlis Ray Traxler; her father, John A. Latham.

She is survived by her beloved ex-husband, John C. Hamilton; her mother, Lucille Anderson Latham; her daughter, Rose Mary (Clyde) Champion of Forkville; her sister, Janie (Billy Wayne) Lott of Lake, MS; her brothers, Sammy Latham of Monroe, LA and Ezelle "Bud" Latham of Canton, MS; one grandchild, Amber Michelle Phillips; two great grandchildren, Makayla Breann Phillips and Logan Ray Phillips; and one great-great-granddaughter, Serenity Jaziah Ficklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee of Morton.
