Dorothy Nell (Isonhood) Martin, 71, a resident of Brandon, MS, passed away Monday, November 6, 2017 in Athens, GA surrounded by her family. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Visitation with the family will be held at 1:00 p.m. preceding the service.
Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed tending to her many flower beds and homecooked Sunday dinners with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her three children Daniel W. Martin of Brandon, MS, Nathan D. Martin (Jennifer Martin) of Brandon, MS, and Georgianna L. Martin (Adam Akers) of Athens, GA; her four grandchildren Daniel Madison Martin, Jillian Akers, McKenna Akers, and Gwendolyn Akers; her brothers Richard L. Isonhood, Jr. (Helen Isonhood) and Charles Isonhood; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her long-time companion Robert Flaherty, her parents Mary Gipson Isonhood and Richard Lexion Isonhood, Sr., and her brother Gipson Fred Isonhood.
