Dorothy Tinnin Martin, 82, died Sunday, June 2, 2013 at her home in Brandon, MS.Visitation is Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 5 – 7 pm at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 10 am from the Chapel of Ott & Lee Funeral Home with burial to follow at 2 pm in the Inverness Cemetery, Inverness, MS.
Dorothy Ruth Tinnin was born September 16, 1930 in Inverness, MS to the late Eustace ElRey Tinnin and Kathryn Ruth Ramey Tinnin. She loved teaching and had taught school in both the public schools and private schools for more than 35 years.
Dorothy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to do for others. She loved her family very much and enjoyed family gatherings. She also loved to cook, sew, read, and work in her yard. She had been a resident of Brandon for 23 years. She was a member of Park Place Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Betty Portwood; a brother, ElRey Eustace Tinnin; and a grandson, Zachary Neal Martin.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Walter Neal Martin of Brandon, MS; son, Walter Neal Martin, Jr. (Suzan) of Saltillo, MS; daughter, Kathy McDill (Mark) of Pearl, MS; four grandchildren, Laura Hunt, Hospital, Memphis, TN.
