Dorothy Jean McNeil met her Lord and Savior after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases on June 24, 2014. Visitation will be 10 – 11 am Friday, June 27, 2014, at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. There will be a 12 Noon graveside service Friday at Leaf River Church Cemetery in Pineville, MS.
Born March 28, 1928 in Pineville, MS to W.L. and McEva McNeil. Jean later moved to Pearl, MS and retired from General Electric after over 40 years of employment. In retirement she enjoyed volunteering at River Oaks Hospital, playing golf, working in her yard and spending time with her God children. Jean was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl, MS.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brother, W.B. McNeil of Pineville and niece Becky McNeil Grant of Pearl. She is survived by her niece Kim Ulrich and her husband, Mike; her niece and God daughter, Amanda Thibodeaux and her husband Adam; her nephew and God son, Michael Ulrich and her great-great-great niece Tatum Rae Thibodeaux. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Penny McNeil and many other nieces and nephews.
