Dorothy Jean Harvey Patrick, a.k.a. “Granny”, 86, passed away Tues. Nov. 29, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. A memorial service will be 11am on Sat. Dec. 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS handled the arrangements.
Mrs. Patrick was born in Ludlow, MS to Earl and Mildred Nutt Harvey on Oct. 13, 1930. She was next to the oldest of four girls and she attended school at Ludlow. Mrs. Patrick married Elmer Gray Patrick and loved her roll of homemaker and mother. After his death she had to learn to drive and went to work outside the home. She worked at Pauline’s Fabrics, Howard Brothers and McRaes.
Mrs. Patrick was a member of First Baptist Church in Pearl, MS where she was very active in the choir. Her greatest joy was becoming a grandmother and GREAT grandmother. Her favorite name was “Granny”. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and a sister, Edna Smith.
Mrs. Patrick is survived by her children, Henry E. Patrick (Rachel), and Cynthia Lynne Patrick; grandchildren, Rebekah Regan (Chris) and Benjamin Patrick (Holly); three great grandchildren, Preslie Jane Patrick, Levi Patrick Regan and Ivie Gray Patrick; two sisters, Earlene Clark (Joe) and Effie Williams, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
