Dorothy Schwarz

Dorothy Nadine Truitt Schwarz, 101 years old of Pearl, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at St. Dominic Hospital. Dorothy was born on February 13, 1919 and raised in Weiner, Arkansas. She moved with her family to Michigan in 1950, where she lived until 1991 and then spent the last 30 years of her life in Pearl, MS.

She was a faithful member of Park Place Baptist Church, Pearl, MS. She was very active in her Sunday School Class. Her love was taking care of her husband and five children and enjoying the grandchildren. During her time with us, there were so many memories. The changes she saw in her lifetime were astonishing.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Elgie Lee Schwarz; sisters, Effie Needham, Fern Scott, and Ethel Cox; sons, Samuel Schwarz and Paul Schwarz.

She is survived by daughters, Donna (Robert) Hagen of Brandon, MS; Mickey (Joseph) Rishel of Brandon, MS; and son, Michael Schwarz of Pearl, MS; 8 grandchildren, Edward Schwarz, Marla (Andrew) Lekarczyk; Rick (Dana) Schwarz, Kelly (Andrew) Rutledge; Robert (Svetlana) Brooker; Danell (Steve) Napier; Robin (Grant) Blackwell; Robert (Summer) Ray; 14 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home, Brandon, MS.

Dorothy requested to be cremated and placed with her husband in Weiner, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a non-profit organization or charity of your choice in the name of Dorothy Schwarz.
