Punkum was born in Dubbs, MS on May 6, 1937 to Thomas and Hassie Betts Coaten.
Survivors include her son, Robert Nelson Berry (Wanda) of Lena, MS; daughter, Amy Berry Baker of Pearl, MS; sisters, Polly Johnson of Oxford, MS and Lottie Mae Welch of Sara, MS; grandchildren, Keetra Berry, Kristen Mitchell (Michael), Brian Sakeriska (Lacey), Tyler Berry and Stephanie Purvis (Blair); and 4 great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Blair Batson Children’s Hospital.
