Doshia Q. Prestage, 68, died on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012 at her residence. Visitation was held 5 until 7 pm on Wednesday August 1st, from 10am until 6pm on Thursday August 2nd at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS.
Funeral services were held at 10am on Friday, August 3rd, at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS with burial following at the Hopewell Baptist Church cemetery in Lake, MS. Rev. Allen Blackburn and Rev. Bobby Brown officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton, MS was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Prestage was born in Brandon, MS on Saturday, February 12th, 1944. She lived in the Norris Community of Lake, MS for 21 years after moving from Morton. She was a long time employee of B. C. Rogers/Koch’s for more than 30 years. She was also a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Trenton, MS. She enjoyed spending time and cooking for her family, gardening and attending Skeet’s Auction on Saturday nights.
She is proceeded in death by her husband of 46 years, Lamar L. Prestage, her mother Virginia Cook, her father Ethern Depriest, her brother Wilburn Depriest, and her sister Eva Pinson.
She is survived by two daughters, Sarah Prestage of Lake, and Lisa Warren of Morton; one son Joey (Anna) Prestage of Lake; two granddaughters, Shasta Shelley of Lake and Allison Prestage of Lake; three grandsons, Joshua Hall of Morton, Yancey (Brittany) Crapps of Meridian, and Jason Prestage of Lake; two great-grandsons, JT Shelley and Colt Shelley of Lake; five sisters, Hazel (Wesley) Coley of Morton, Ruthie (Jack) Thomas of Morton, Euna (Jack) Stewart of Morton, Dorothy (Jessie) Prestage of Morton, and Emily (Dee) Hynes of Morton; and number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers included Neil Bishop, Thomas Coley, Timmy Coley, Roger Coley, William Depriest, Dee Hynes, Jerry Hynes, and Tony Prestage. Honorary pallbearers included Kevin Bishop, Thomas “Bubba” Coley, David Depriest, Chris McDonald, and Daniel Stewart.
