Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” McLemore, age 72, a resident of Morton passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the University Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation was held 3-6pm Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Morton United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services were held 1pm Monday, April 11, 2016 at the church with burial in Hodge Hill Cemetery. Bro. Jonathan Soden and Bro. Ricky Watkins officiated the services. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.
Mrs. McLemore was born in Scott County on November 3, 1943. Dot loved to paint and work in her flowers. She loved to wear beautiful hats of many colors and could be seen sporting them everywhere she went. Dot was an active member of the Morton United Pentecostal Church and was a devout Christian. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
She is preceded in death by her son, Tim Peanut McLemore; parents, David Paul Denson and Annie Thelma Simmons Denson; brothers, Dallas Paul Denson and Alton Freddy Denson.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Clyde McLemore of Morton; daughter, Kim Stamper and husband, Phillip of Morton; sister, Annie Dalphine Rainer of Florence; 3 brothers, Barnie Gail “Ronnie” Denson (Carol) of Beaumont, TX, Bennie Scott “Scotty” Denson (Kathy) of Lena and Marty Dale Denson of Mendenhall; 2 grandchildren, Casey Stamper and Chase McLemore; 1 great grandchild, Emily Faith McLemore; best friend, Bonnie Jean Harmon; sister-in-law, Geraldine Cook; daughter-in-law, Lisa McLemore; special friends, Todd and Robin Newcom; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Junior McBride, Bud McBride, Clay Harmon, Lester Yount, Zach Harmon, Todd Newcom and Cricket Squires.
