Dot Mckay Owen

Mrs. Dot McKay Owen, age 98 and a resident of Morton passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from the Leesburg Baptist Church with the Rev. Jon Marc Vanlandingham and Rev. Randy Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Leesburg Baptist Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and continue until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Owen loved her family very much and will be remembered for her strong Christian faith. Favorite past times included tending to her flowers and gardening as well as crocheting, sewing, quilting and doing embroidering. She was a homemaker and a member of the Leesburg Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husbands Joe Dick McKay, Sr., and William Earl Owen; one son: William David Owen; two grandsons: Kirk McKay and Scott Owen; her parents: Mitchell and Alice Gordon Measels; two sisters: Ruby Joyner and Emma Jo Cross and one brother: Mitchell Measels, Jr.

Survivors include her children: Roger (Jean) McKay of Pelahatchie; Joe (Linda) McKay of Morton; Linda Jean (Don) Parker of Brandon; Rich (Joyce) Owen of Villa Rica, GA ,Randy (Linda Sue) Owen of Brandon and Delois Owen; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one sister: Lodena Stewart of Morton; and several nieces and nephews.
