Douglas “Bub” Lavon Graves passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023. He was born May 29, 1935, to James Percy Graves and Roberta McLendon Graves.
Born in Puckett, MS, he graduated from Puckett High School and married in 1953. He served in the Army National Guard in 1958. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad after 37 years.
He was a charter member of Brandon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by a son, Dr. Greg Graves (Celeste) of Senatobia, a daughter, Gina Graves Mashburn (Danny) of Bolton, a sister, Glenda Graves Vinson, Grandchildren: Tyler Graves (Summer), Isabel Mashburn, Jennifer Driver, Chas Ingram; Great-grandchildren: Calli Cole, Sutton Graves, Tristan Price, and Seeley Graves.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Graves, Vince Murphy, Peyton Vinson, Parker Vinson, Justin Shivers, Cale Choat.
Special Thanks to: The 3rd Floor Staff of St. Dominic Hospital, The Staff at the Blake - Flowood, and to Dr. Qu and Jackson Oncology Associates.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be made to Brandon Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 16 from 12:00-2pm with funeral service to follow in the Ott and Lee Chapel at 1360 W. Government St in Brandon, MS.
Internment will be at Floral Hills Memory Garden.
